Catherine O’Conner Durham, DNP, APRN, FNP-C
Chair
Dr. Durham is the Assistant Dean for Graduate Practice Programs and Associate Professor in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at the College of Nursing. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Purdue University, Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Durham is an ANCC certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is currently a member of the advisory committee for the State Board of Nursing, the vice president for the Low Country Advanced Practice Association, a Fetter Health Care Network Board member and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Dr Durham is also an active drilling Reservist in the US Navy and holds the present rank of Captain. She currently serves as the Senior Nurse Executive for 154 Navy Reserve Nurses throughout the South East and previously completed a mobilization to New York City in support of COVID-19.
Shelli Quenga, MA
Vice-Chair
Ms. Quenga oversees all advocacy and programming for South Carolina statewide nonprofit organization, Palmetto Project, with particular focus on access to coverage and healthcare services for all South Carolinians.
Shelli formerly directed a regional nonprofit focused on children with special healthcare needs and continues to serve as an advocate for educational, community and medical services for children with special healthcare needs and their families. She holds a master’s degree in counseling from Webster University and a bachelor’s degree from Vassar College.
Juwan X. Ayers, MBA
Treasurer
A Summerville resident, Mr. Ayers graduated from South Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He has received several honors, including being a part of Leadership South Carolina and has been named in the Charleston 35 & Under “Best and Brightest.”
Aside from his position with Fetter Health Care Network, Mr. Ayers serves the Charleston community as a member of several Board of Directors including One80 Place, Charleston Trident Urban League and the SC Commission for Minority Affairs. Mr. Ayers is currently employed as the SVP and Market President with Truist.
Erica Taylor, PHD
Secretary
With more than 20 years in education, Dr. Taylor is an education communications veteran dedicated to supporting Lowcountry learning systems and the students, families and communities they serve. Prior to her current position leading the Orangeburg County School District’s communication and technology program, she held leadership roles with Charleston County School District and South Carolina State University.
Dr. Taylor is well-known for her relationship-building and communication skills, utilizing these abilities to successfully lead and manage teams in the effective delivery of complex topics to wide audiences. She currently serves as the chair of the Charleston Urban League Board of Directors, as well as on the Charleston Leadership Foundation and MOJA Arts Festival Community Advisory Committee.

Alison McCullough, MPH
Ms. McCullough is the Health and Disability Service Specialist for East Coast Migrant Head Start Project in Lodge, SC, as well as the bookkeeper and customer service specialist at Southern Crane & Tractor, Inc. in Walterboro, SC.
She has a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and a bachelor of science degree in biology from Presbyterian College, where she graduated cum laude and with honors. She also as a master of public health degree from Georgia State University. In addition to serving on Fetter’s board of directors, she is a board member of Huellas de Paz.
LEWANN HARPER-ARMSTRONG, JD, RN, BSN
Ms. Harper-Armstrong earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the Charleston School of Law and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Charleston Southern University. She brings legal experience with her, having practiced at her own solo firm, Harper- Armstrong Law, LLC in Charleston and then at Suttles Law Firm, LLC, in Summerville.
Ms. Harper-Armstrong is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association and Charleston County Bar Association. Ms. Harper-Armstrong has volunteered her expertise to a variety of local organizations, including Charleston Pro Bono and Centers for Heirs Property Preservation. She received special recognitions from the MUSC General Counsel’s Office while completing an externship there. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Harper-Armstrong worked as an operating room registered nurse for the Medical University of South Carolina and the Bruce W. Carter Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Miami. She also served with several Miami-area and New York City hospitals. While working at the Miami VA, she received an award for peri-operative nursing excellence and she volunteered for a surgical mission trip to Haiti.
Edna Edward Williams, MA
Ms. Williams earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Charleston Southern University and would later attend Webster University to pursue her Master of Arts in Human Resources Management and Human Resources Development.
Ms. Williams currently serves as a payroll specialist with Business Solution Concepts, Inc. She is an active member of the Charleston Chapter of Chums, Inc., Tri-County Women’s Project, Inc. and other location organizations.
John P. Givens III, BS
A Walterboro, SC, native, Mr. Givens is a graduate of South Carolina State University and a commission officer of the United States Army Reserve. He is a highly experienced construction professional, serving as a project manager for Construction Dynamics Inc., where his projects have helped further education, manufacturing, municipality and other vital sectors uplifting our communities.
Aside from his role on Fetter’s board, Mr. Givens serves on the Building Board for the City of Walterboro. He is a regular volunteer and student mentor with Thunderbolt Career and Technology Center’s brick masonry program, as well as with Charleston’s Architecture Construction Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program.
Iroasha Washington, MSW
With an extensive background in family and social services, Ms. Washington brings important expertise to helping Fetter better serve patients of all ages. Over the years, she has served as a parent advocate for Mary Ford Early Learning Family Center, human services coordinator at SC Department of Mental Health, human services specialist at SC Department of Social Services, and mental health consultant for Empowered Counseling Services.
Ms. Washington was named Charleston County DSS’ 2012 Case Manager of the Year and has dedicated her career to advocating for youth and families’ success. She earned her bachelor’s in criminal justice from Voorhees College and her Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina.
Erica M. McDaniels, ESQ
A graduate of the University of South Carolina and the Charleston School of Law, Ms. McDaniels is a dedicated representative of justice in our city. She serves as assistant general counsel at the College of Charleston, providing legal counsel at all levels on matters of state and federal regulations, risk management and federal law. She is a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honors Society and was awarded the National Association of Women’s Lawyer Award in 2014.
