Fetter Health Care Network (Fetter), MUSC Health and Palmetto Project are partnering to host a community COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Wednesday, June 23 from 2 to 7 p.m. in Ladson, SC. The event will be held at Exchange Park (9850 Hwy. 78, Ladson, SC) and vaccinations will be free for all who are eligible. Currently, it is expected that 2,000 doses of the first Pfizer vaccine will be available.

“We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with MUSC and Palmetto Project to provide access to the COVID-19 vaccine to our community members,” said Aretha R. Powers, DHA, CEO of Fetter. “When we join forces to serve our community, we know this holds the potential to create a substantial, positive impact in the lives of our friends and neighbors. We are looking forward to serving hundreds of Lowcountry residents through this event.”

In addition to COVID-19 vaccine distribution, Palmetto Project’s Insure SC team will be on site providing free education, application and enrollment assistance for Medicare, Medicaid and Affordable Care Act insurance plans. Palmetto Project is a one-stop-shop for health coverage options and all services are at no cost.

“Although you don’t need insurance to get your COVID vaccine, coverage is important to protect and maintain your health. Our team of nonprofit health insurance agents are excited to be on site to offer free application and enrollment assistance,” said Steve Skardon, Palmetto Project’s executive director.

While pre-registration will not be required, it will be available for vaccine recipients. Those interested in registering in advance can do so by visiting musc.co/community or by calling 843-876-7227. On-site registration will also be available as recipients arrive at the vaccination clinic.

All attendees 12 years of age and older are currently eligible to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Recipients are asked to provide a photo I.D. and insurance card, if applicable, but neither are required to receive the vaccine.

The second dose of the Pfizer vaccine for recipients who attend this event will be administered on July 14 between 2 to 7 p.m. at Exchange Park.
